The sunrise of a thousand years,
Has always stayed the same.
Each one a new beginning
And a chance to try again.

God in his wondrous wisdom
Made a way that we could learn
From yesterdays and failures
While for destiny we yearn.

He allowed some time for thinking
How we could have changed the past.
But encouraged us to move ahead
To find our place at last.

To waste our lives reflecting
On the things that might have been,
Seems to squander precious moments
When we've a world to win.

So the King has raised His scepter,
He invites us to partake
Of the wondrous love He's offered
Sacrificially for our sake.

To deny our Lord the pleasure
Of the bride He longs to hold
Would be to waste a thousand sunsets,
And to let the world die, cold.
