An animal that falls into a trap May be looking for something to fill the gap While the bait may look inviting and supreme It's deception and it's just a fleeting dream. For the dainty morsel may appear as gain When the trap is sprung all that remains is pain. The focus now is trying to get out What they thought they needed is not what they're about. God created them to hunt and find there fare And not the "free" meal waiting for them there. What comes easy will not ever satisfy, And will only bring more hunger by and by. There will always be an enemy, a snare Lying in wait to bring us heartache and despair, When the hunt was what we needed all along We've become entangled, where we don't belong. If, in fact, we find ourselves ensnared In a place for which we never were prepared, We must take the help of the One who sets us free, To become what we were really meant to be. |
