Larry
March 1999
Justene Martin

Larry,
It's a rocky road we've traveled on
For all these years, and yet
The way I felt when our eyes met
I never will forget.

That dark tanned skin, that curly hair
A smile that lit the world
The quiet strong demeanor
Almost too much for this small-town girl.

O foolish girl, I climbed aboard
This roller coaster ride,
Not hardly even knowing yet
The young man by my side.

But I needed someone strong and solid
To help me through my growing
And God just smiled and said "Hang on,
For you don't know where you're going.

So up and down this breathless ride,
We held on for dear life
Afraid to admit I wasn't prepared
To be anybody's wife.

Through kids and dogs and diapers
Through happy times and tears.
Somehow our love grew stronger
Throughout thirty-seven years.

Now we're stepping up for another ride
Without a backward glance
We're older now and wiser
But we wouldn't miss this dance.

With breathless anticipation
We step up to the gate
And hand in hand we step back on
And I can hardly wait.

For we've been around already once
And babe, we made it through,
And I'll gladly make this trip again
As long as I'm with you!

All My Love, Josi
