Liz's Poem
May 4, 2004
Justene Martin

When morning turns to dancing
When beauty covers shame.
It's hard to even ponder
How joy replaces pain.

But as I sit and wonder,
How such a thing can be,
Within my heart He whispers,
"Just take a look at me!

I looked and saw your weakness
And my soul was wracked with pain,
I knew I must do somethin'
To make you whole again.

So I had to bear your sorrow
And I carried all your grief
So one day you'd recognize me
As your Savior, not a thief!

No!  I'd never take your loved ones
I would never break your heart.
I came to overcome death,
So we'd never be apart!

When you finally recognize Me
As your lover and your friend,
You'll see beauty in the ashes
And our joy will never end!"
