Spirit Of Lack
July 31, 2007
Justene Martin

There’s a mindset of poverty
A spirit of lack,
It’s about taking something
And not giving back.

It’s a devious devil
That drains life away,
A shroud of death
That grows darker each day.

It’s a curse that was planted
Generations before
Never having enough,
Always asking for more.

It’s about never knowing
The wealth you possess,
Always hungry for more,
Always dwelling on less.

It’s a hideous plot
To make you die poor,
Never reaching your destiny,
Never knowing the score,

If nothing changes,
Everything stays the same,
You’re as dead as the widows,
Who are dying in shame.

You must hear God’s answer,
You must never look back,
Or you may be slain,
By this spirit of lack.
