As I sit and wonder
At the season’s mystery,
I’m forced to face the issues
Time presents to you and me.

Was it ever really
Just about a baby’s birth?
Or was it more spectacular,
A God who visits earth?

I cannot help but wonder
How we got so far away,
From the splendor and the glory
Of what happened on that day.

And how we’ve made a mockery
Made it all about ourselves,
And reduced the King of Glory,
Replacing Him with elves!

Forgotten in the myths,
The lies we propagate,
While guilty stains and bloodshed
Makes our King await.

And how long will He offer us
The time to get it right,
To lose our selfishness
Becoming Holy in His sight?

Will anyone remember
Will anybody pray?
Or will we keep on selfishly
Forgetting Him this day?

To find Him is to find the life
He gave abundantly
And lose our self in Ecstasy,
Of what He did that day.
