The Moments Of Life
April 6, 2006
Justene Martin

These are the moments
The treasures of life.
Was she always a mother
Or somebodies wife?
Or someones’ Grandma,
Or someones’ maid
Who cleaned up messes
Without being paid?
Somewhere on the road
Was there time for me
To become the woman
I wanted to be?
It’s an age-old question,
An endless search
To determine for once
What a woman is worth.
She’s daughter, sister,
Lover and friend
It’s hard to say
Where this woman has been.
There is one thing certain,
She wins the prize,
She’s worth more than diamonds,
In her children's eyes.
