The Saviors Kiss
January 22, 2004
Justene Martin

I cannot give a reason why,
Nor will I even ever try,
To understand why you and I
Are the apple of His eye.

It makes no sense to ponder
Why He bought us with His blood
And did you ever wonder
What you did to earn that love?

Well I have and it's a mystery
When I know how Bad I am,
How He could leave His Father
To save the souls of man.

He must have seen a reason,
Something I could never see,
To be willing to redeem us
Or to save a wretch like me.

But still the greatest mystery
Is my ungrateful heart,
So I've asked Him for the Grace
So I can do my part.

A bride that is unwilling
To give herself for love,
Can never be a Queen
Who can reign with Him above.

So I'm in preparation
To become a willing bride.
So that I can free His people
And be seated by His side.

A time of preparation
For such a time as this
For this one who longs to know Him,
And to know my Saviors Kiss.
