There's a Cause Much Bigger than I
May 31, 2008
Justene Martin

There's a cause much bigger than I
A purpose I refused to see,
It's a view from the eyes of God,
It is so much higher than me.

How those who are outside my view
Places I have never been,
Are bound in impossible chains,
Held captive by horror and sin.

Children slaving as animals
Not a nurturing mother in sight,
And widows who wait to die.
Outcast, in a terrible plight.

While I sit in my ivory tower,
With more than I'll ever need,
Wishing away my hours
All around I see nothing but greed.

I deny my right to complain,
I lay down the comfort I sought,
I must go to the hopeless and dying,
To free the one's Jesus bought.

He didn't just die for my comfort,
He died for mankind to be free,
There's a kingdom awaiting these hopeless,
He didn't just die for me.
