I'm asking you Lord for a minute or two
There's something I need to discuss.
I've been asking you for a whole lot of things
And I don't want to cause you a fuss.

But I sent you a gift, my most precious prize.
And I'd like to call your attention
So you'll know who he is when he knocks at Your door,
Here's some traits I thought I'd mention.

He's got curly hair and a cleft in his chin,
And eyes as blue as the sky.
He's got a smile you can't forget
And he may seem a little bit shy.

But you'll know for a fact
You've got the right one
Cause I know he'll mention my name.
I've told him how long you've waited for him
And I know he'll be so glad he came.

Take care of him Lord, he's my most precious gift,
Like the gift you gave to me
And it breaks my heart to let him go.
But I thank you for setting him free.
