The Journey By Justene Martin Thanks to my readers for the lovely comments and encouraging words. I pondered why even some who claim not enjoy poetry, seem to be drawn to it anyway. I came up with this little thought. Even the most analytical minds and great mathematical geniuses, have somewhere within their heart, pictures of past events. Art, in many forms, seems to have the ability to reach in and draw out these events and make them appear to be happening again; Poet Painting a picture with words On the canvas of your mind, Weaving for you, a tapestry, Of the most incredible kind. I could not paint you a thing, If your heart had never seen Nor take you back to a place Where your memories never have been. So I make your heart the artist, The paint is your memories, The picture, bright and vibrant, Or pastel, however you please. It¢s funny how reading my words Can suddenly make you aware, That some how your thoughts and my words Have taken both of us there. |
